EAGLE FIRE 45% CONTAINED

Update 7 p.m.:  The Eagle Fire is 12,700 acres and 45% contained. There have been 6 minor injuries to firefighters. 11 miles of containment line to be built, and firefighters continue to construct, hold and improve containment lines.


Cost to fight the fire $6.2 million.
 

A total of 2,133 firefighters are battling the blaze, along with 71 engines, 85 fire crews, 20 bulldozers, 30 water tenders, 17 helicopters, 5 helitankers, 6 airtankers, 274 overhead. 

 

July 25, 2011 (San Diego's East County) -- The Eagle Fire is now 12,500 acres and 45% contained. Cost to date to fight the fire is $4.7 million. "Fire crews continue to make progress, but still have 12 miles of containment line to construct," said Roxanne Provaznik, Cal-Fire spokesperson.

A total of 1,808 firefighters are assigned to the fire, along with 67 engines, 82 fire crews, 15 bulldozers, 32 water tenders, 19 helicopters, 3 helitankers, 8 airtankers, and 250 overhead.
